African Safari Wildlife Park in Shores & Islands Ohio is seeking a dependable Maintenance Lead to supervise daily maintenance, repairs, grounds, landscaping, and janitorial tasks while actively working with the team.

The role reports to the Director of Facilities and Maintenance and emphasizes safety, preventative maintenance, and reliable attendance. Strong leadership and collaboration with park departments are essential.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older and pass pre-employment screening.
• Experience in maintenance, farming, construction, landscaping, mechanical work, or related field preferred.
• Leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
• Comfortable using hand tools, power tools, lawn equipment, and maintenance equipment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot problems.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record and reliable transportation.
• Regular and dependable attendance.
• Flexible schedule, including some weekends and holidays.
• Ability to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks.
• Ability to work around animals.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily maintenance requests and projects, including repairs and preventative maintenance.
• Lead and coordinate Maintenance, Grounds, and Janitorial staff.
• Maintain records of inspections, safety, and maintenance activities.
• Coordinate shop, equipment, and supply needs with Director of Facilities.
• Ensure park facilities are clean, safe, and guest-ready.
• Collaborate with other Park departments to support daily operations.
