Job summary

City of Lubbock is seeking a Park Maintenance Foreman to lead maintenance crews for parks, public grounds, and athletic areas. Under the Park Operations Supervisor, you will direct daily activities, train staff, and ensure safety and quality across all projects.

The role requires strong leadership, blueprint-reading, and emergency response skills, with a CDL and valid license. Expect routine reporting and coordination with multiple departments.

Qualifications

• Completion of high school diploma or the equivalent.
• Three years of experience supervising construction or maintenance activities.
• Possession of Class A CDL, or ability to obtain within 1 year.
• Valid Driver's License.
• Physical Exam Required.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct, and supervise the work activities of maintenance personnel in parks and facilities.
• Maintain accurate daily records of assignments, performance, and timekeeping.
• Hire, train, and instruct new crew members in park maintenance policies.
• Procure supplies, materials, and contracted services per policy and budget.
• Prepare written and oral reports on budget, activities, and employee performance.
• Operate and train others on equipment including hand tools, power tools, heavy equipment, and trucks.
• Read blueprints and construction documents to ensure compliance with standards.
• Respond to and supervise emergency maintenance operations during inclement weather and other events.
• Perform other related job duties as assigned.
