Job summary

City of Phoenix is seeking a Gardener with sprinkler system expertise to maintain and repair irrigation for parks and landscaped areas. Responsibilities include plant care, weed control, and operating mowing equipment.

The role requires the ability to lift 50–100 lbs, follow complex instructions, and may involve directing others. Ideal candidates have experience with irrigation and customer service within a municipal setting.

Qualifications

• One year of experience in the care and maintenance of trees, plants, shrubs, and lawns.
• Background check and fingerprinting as applicable.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record; may use City vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Maintain an automated sprinkler system: repair heads, valves, timers, and solenoids.
• Troubleshoot irrigation systems and repair water leaks and faulty wiring.
• Perform general park maintenance: litter patrol, raking, trash receptacles, and plant care.
