Job summary

Queen Creek Unified District is seeking a Grounds Maintenance worker to keep district grounds clean and beautiful across multiple sites. The role includes planting, trimming, watering, irrigation care, and routine maintenance of drip and sprinkler systems, with the ability to repair timers and valves.

The position requires five years in landscape and sprinkler work, a valid AZ drivers license, and the ability to work outdoors in Arizona heat.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
Valid Arizona drivers license.
Background clearance required.
Arizona IVP Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card required.
Experience with computers, such as email and work order systems.
Knowledge of hand and power tools.
Five years of landscape and sprinkler experience.
Ability to read blueprints and closeout books.
Must be able to work outside in Arizona weather conditions.

Responsibilities

Performs planting, trimming, watering, fertilizing and care of the lawn at all district sites.
Maintains irrigation systems, drip systems, and time clocks; repair timers and valves.
Operates lawnmowers, weed eaters, trimmers, blowers, tractors and trailers.
Understands and explains irrigation system design and operation.
Maintains sports fields lining for football, baseball, and soccer.
Ensures all district sites have well-maintained grounds.
Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
