Ogden City is seeking a Maintenance Technician II to support Parks & Cemetery maintenance, including refuse collection, chemical application, irrigation, and turf care. You will work under the Parks Area Maintenance Supervisor and may supervise up to six staff, ensuring safety and efficiency across city facilities.

Important duties include maintaining logs, operating heavy equipment, and assisting with special events.

Qualifications

• Three years in maintaining municipal grounds or experience in chemical application.
• High school diploma or equivalent; combination of experience and education acceptable.
• Ability to obtain CDL Class A with Tanker/Airbrake within 150 days.
• NIMS IS100/IS700 within six months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Manage and report on refuse collection for parks, trails, cemeteries, and facilities.
• Operate refuse truck, perform daily maintenance and safety inspections.
• Schedule pest control treatments to meet thresholds and stay compliant.
• Mix and apply chemicals; use spraying equipment and soil amendments.
• Maintain integrated pest management program per industry standards.
• Keep logs of pesticide use, equipment maintenance, and inventory.
• Prepare logs and reports to track work progress and results.
• Operate and maintain heavy equipment and power tools; perform preventive maintenance.
• Perform park maintenance: trimming, watering, sweeping, and debris removal.
• Support events setup/breakdown (e.g., Christmas Village, Pioneer Days Rodeo).
• Direct up to six staff in landscape and facilities maintenance.
• Conduct safety audits; maintain accurate records and stay compliant.
• Assist with turf maintenance, irrigation, and mowing.
• Stay informed on new park maintenance trends and chemical applications.
