Job summary

University of Richmond is seeking a capable groundskeeper to perform skilled landscaping and manual work to maintain campus properties. The role requires operating various power equipment and performing routine maintenance across grounds and facilities.

This full-time, on-site position runs Monday to Friday 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM and includes essential duties, a pay grade structure, and opportunities to support campus safety and cleanliness.

Qualifications

• Must have valid driver’s license and driving record with at least 3 years of history.
• Strong verbal and written English communication.
• Thorough and dependable with basic grounds maintenance knowledge.
• Knowledge of pruning and trimming shrubs and trees.

Responsibilities

• Remove refuse and trash from campus grounds.
• Mow, trim, fertilize and water lawns and athletic fields using equipment.
• Plant, mulch, weed and care for flowers, shrubs and trees.
• Repair and maintain walkways, roads, signs, light poles and fountains.
• Remove snow and ice; apply sand and chemicals as directed.
