Job summary

City of Pierre is seeking a motivated person to join the Parks team and help maintain city parks and facilities. You will operate grounds equipment, assist with irrigation systems, and perform seasonal tasks including snow removal.

The role requires basic reading/writing and math skills, plus a driver’s license; experience with irrigation and power tools is beneficial. Competitive benefits and a structured work environment are offered.

Qualifications

• Read, write and perform basic math at high school level or equivalent.
• 1–2 years of related park maintenance experience preferred.
• Possession of or ability to obtain a valid South Dakota driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Operate tools/equipment to maintain park grounds and inspect safety of playgrounds.
• Maintain irrigation systems and assist in landscaping tasks.
• Perform snow removal and general park upkeep year-round.
• Assist in installing and maintaining park structures and facilities.
