Job summary

OC Parks is seeking a Park Maintenance Worker I to perform routine grounds and facility maintenance across Orange County’s parks. The role includes cleaning amenities, landscape and hardscape upkeep, trash management, custodial tasks, and operating small equipment.

Strong emphasis on safety and customer service while supporting public park visitors. Ideal candidates will have experience in landscaping, basic plumbing/masonry/carpentry, tool use, and the ability to follow maintenance procedures

Qualifications

Experience with landscaping and lawn care.
Experience with basic plumbing, masonry, and carpentry work.
Experience with hand and power tools used in facilities and ground maintenance and repair.
Understanding and following maintenance practices and procedures.
Understanding instructions and carrying out tasks verbally and in writing.
Operating equipment safely and following SOPs.
Providing excellent customer service to park visitors.

Responsibilities

Cleaning and inspecting amenities such as bathrooms, offices, or outdoor areas.
Performing hardscape and landscape maintenance, including debris removal, vegetation management, weed control, washing, raking, or concrete patching.
Removing trash bags or litter and maintaining trash receptacles.
Providing general custodial services, including vacuuming, mopping, dusting, and cleaning.
Operating and maintaining small equipment.
Performing administrative and customer service tasks, including public contact.
