The Maryland-National Capital Park & Planning Commission is seeking a skilled Plumber II to perform complex plumbing and gas fitting tasks across 430 park buildings and structures in Prince George’s County. You will install, maintain, repair, and modify plumbing systems in compliance with WSSC and national codes.
Applicant requirements include a journeyman license, gas fitter certification, and a valid driver’s license.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED.
- Completion of an approved plumbing/gas fitting apprentice program or six (6) years of progressively responsible experience.
- Two (2) years of experience at the journey level.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted, totaling six (6) years.
- Valid Journey Plumber License and Gas Fitter Certification issued by appropriate local jurisdiction.
- Valid driver’s license in accordance with State and Commission rules and regulations; unencumbered by restrictions that limit driving Commission vehicles.
- Depending on area of assignment, a CDL with appropriate endorsements may be required.
- Pass Commission medical examination.

- Perform a full range of skilled plumbing and gas fitting work, installing, maintaining, repairing, replacing, or modifying plumbing systems and gas piping per code.
- Coordinate the work of others effectively and work without direct supervision in a team environment.
