Job summary

North Carolina Department of Natural and Cultural Resources (DNCR) maintains and oversees state parks, historic sites, and museums. The role supports maintenance and construction supervision at Raven Rock State Park in Lillington, NC, ensuring facilities meet safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED plus 3 years in facility maintenance or construction including journey level experience in at least three trades.
• Experience reading blueprints/structural specifications and estimating materials.
• EPA certifications may be required (per regulations).

Responsibilities

• Develops outside bid packages, reviews plan sheets from designers/contractors, and monitors contractor work.
• Supervises and evaluates work of staff, community service personnel, and volunteers on projects.
• Provides record-keeping support and prepares basic operational forms.
• Manages routine construction, maintenance, and repairs for facilities, buildings, and structures (and automotive repairs).
• Maintains stock control procedures for tools, parts and supplies.
• Advises management on technical aspects of maintenance, replacement, or renovation of equipment and facilities.
