Job summary

City of Fort Wayne Parks & Recreation is seeking a Park Person C – Facilities to help keep parks clean and functioning. You will perform janitorial work, maintain buildings and grounds, and assist with facility upkeep.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, four years janitorial experience, and two years operating floor care equipment; a valid Indiana driver's license is required. Work involves outdoor conditions and physical tasks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Four years janitorial and cleaning experience.
• Two years operation of floor care equipment (floor machine, buffer, carpet extractor, pressure washer).
• Knowledge of floor care products.

Responsibilities

• Maintains the general appearance of city parks which include, buildings, facilities and grounds, athletic fields, and ball-diamonds.
• Performs all varieties of janitorial work.
• Reports all vandalism and items in need of repair.
• Cleans, strips, and waxes floors. Dusts, washes walls, and restroom fixtures as required.
• Picks up litter and debris from park grounds.
