Job summary

DNREC's Division of Parks and Recreation – Killens Pond State Park is seeking a Physical Plant Maintenance Supervisor to oversee the park's maintenance staff and daily operations, including buildings, grounds, waterpark and campground facilities.

The role requires coordinating with Friends groups, volunteers and contractors, supervising multiple staff, and helping plan maintenance budgets while ensuring safety and compliance with applicable codes.

Qualifications

• Three years experience operating and maintaining equipment in trades such as plumbing, carpentry, painting or HVAC.
• Three years experience performing work in trades fields such as plumbing, carpentry, painting or HVAC.
• Six months experience interpreting safety and building codes, laws, rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
• Six months experience estimating cost, time and materials for projects.
• Six months experience interpreting blueprints, schematics or technical drawings.
• Six months experience supervising staff and evaluating their work.
• Knowledge of maintenance and preventative maintenance programs across trades.
• Possession of a valid Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Supervise two or more merit full-time positions across mechanical/trades fields.
• Design sketches and prints for remodeling projects and inspect the work.
• Coordinate with contractors, architects and others on large construction projects.
• Assist in budgeting for maintenance operations and report preparation.
• Oversee operation, maintenance and repair of boilers, pumps and treatment installations.
• Possibly supervise grounds maintenance or custodial workers.
