Job summary

The Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control is seeking a Physical Plant Maintenance/Trades Technician for Killens Pond State Park in Delaware. The role covers maintenance of buildings, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and related systems, with responsibilities that include equipment operation, snow removal, and waterpark mechanical work.

The position requires weekend/holiday hours and the ability to work in inclement weather.

Qualifications

Delaware Journeyperson or higher Electrician license required or valid out-of-state license meeting Delaware requirements.
Six months experience in trades such as plumbing, carpentry, painting or HVAC.
Six months experience in record keeping.
Ability to read blueprints, schematics or technical drawings.
Ability to estimate costs, time and materials for projects.
Valid Driver's License required.

Responsibilities

Perform maintenance repairs on interior and exterior structures, equipment and systems.
Carry out electrical work and maintain electrical systems.
Restore and renovate facilities, bridges, and historical buildings; design layouts for efficient space use.
Oversee private contractors when beyond capacity or budget.
Operate and maintain HVAC, pumps, compressors and life safety devices.
Document work, materials used and time spent; keep records orderly.
