Job summary

Prospect Park Alliance in New York seeks a Facility Maintainer to perform general maintenance and repair of park properties, buildings, facilities and equipment. This role also supports the Bench Donor Program and a variety of events.

Responsibilities include operating power tools, addressing inspection hazards, repairing doors, installing benches and signage foundations, and assisting with seasonal setups.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• One year of facilities maintenance experience preferred, in a commercial, nonprofit, or public environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform general maintenance and repair of park properties, buildings, facilities, equipment and structures.
• Operate power tools and mechanized equipment and maintain tools, equipment, materials and supplies.
• Address hazards found during inspections, perform minor repairs to paved surfaces, fences and benches.
• Make minor repairs to locks and doors.
• Install new benches and plaques and maintain existing benches as part of the Bench Donor Program.
• Install and maintain park signs; prepare foundations and frames for signage system.
• Install/remove snow fence, barricades and ice ladders for events and seasonal activities.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
