Job summary

City of Atlanta’s Parks & Recreation department is seeking a Project Manager I - Park Design to lead planning, coordination, and administration of design projects from inception to completion. You will work with the Director of Park Planning and Design and senior leadership to ensure scope, schedule, and budget adherence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Urban Design, Urban Planning, Civil/Structural Engineering, MEP Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Three to five years’ experience in design and construction on small to medium-scale design/procure/construction program.
• Five years of project management experience and two years of supervisory or managerial experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage projects from conception to completion with internal staff and external consultants/contractors.
• Establish budgets, develop project schedules, and monitor adherence to scope, schedule, and budget.
• Coordinate technical design and engineering work to align with planning concepts.
• Develop RFQs and RFPs.
• Conduct research on real estate acquisition, zoning codes, and construction materials.
• Inventory and analysis of planning/design documents and park facilities.
• Engage with community members and partners on capital projects and planning efforts.
• Attend mandatory meetings and relay critical developments and actions items.
• Maintain the department's graphic standards.
• Maintain knowledge of planning, zoning, design and construction practices.
