Job summary

City of Lexington is seeking a Park Attendant to perform custodial and grounds maintenance at city parks and facilities. Responsibilities include cleaning restrooms, opening/closing parks, patrolling, reporting repairs, and helping with reservations for ball fields and shelters during evenings and weekends.

The role is part-time, averaging 20-25 hours every two weeks, with weekend shifts and some holidays. Applicants must be at least 18 and have a valid NC driver's license or out-of-state

Qualifications

• Minimum age of 18.
• Valid NC driver’s license or valid out-of-state driver’s license with the ability to obtain a valid NC driver’s license within sixty days of employment and good driving record

Responsibilities

• Custodial and grounds maintenance at parks and facilities, including cleaning restrooms and shelters, opening and closing parks, patrolling and securing facilities, and reporting repairs needed for playground and picnic equipment.
• Take charge of checking reservations for ball fields and shelters on evenings and weekends.
• May assist with concessions, scorekeeping, crowd control, special events, or other departmental activities as assigned.

Schedule

Works every other Saturday and Sunday from 8am to park close, and possibly Friday evenings. Works some holidays when the city is closed. May also be asked to fill in for other shifts on weekday evenings and weekend days as needed. 20-25 hours every 2 weeks.
