Job summary

South Coast ESD in Coos County seeks a Parenting Education Facilitator to deliver parenting education programs using evidence-based curricula and to model effective communication with parents and caregivers.

The role supports grant activities, collaborates with the Parenting Hub Manager and staff, and represents the program in the community, with occasional evenings, weekends, or virtual commitments.

Qualifications

• Ability to speak with individuals and small groups articulately.
• Ability to speak at meetings using prepared materials and spontaneously.
• Ability to provide dynamic training to diverse learners adjusting to different cultural environments.
• Understanding of the education enterprise and the mission of ESDs in Oregon.
• Demonstrated skills in critical thinking and problem solving.
• Demonstrated ability to exercise judgment, integrity, confidentiality, tact and diplomacy.
• Demonstrated ability to organize time and resources to perform multiple tasks.
• Demonstrated ability to work well with others and to provide effective leadership.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate parenting education classes using approved, evidence-based curricula.
• Model positive parenting techniques, communication, and guidance strategies.
• Implement, monitor, and report on Parenting Hub grant activities and deliverables.
• Maintain regular contact with families to support participation and engagement.
• Coordinate with Parenting Hub staff on scheduling, outreach, and logistics.
• Maintain program records, attendance and required documentation.
