Job summary

South Coast ESD's Pathways to Positive Parenting Program seeks a caring Parent Café Host to facilitate welcoming and supportive Parent Café experiences for families. The Host will help build connections, share experiences, and connect families with community resources through structured conversations.

This remote, at-will position requires strong communication and facilitation skills, the ability to engage diverse backgrounds, and comfort with virtual meeting tools such as Zoom.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience with families, children, community groups, or educational programs preferred.
• Strong communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to engage individuals from diverse backgrounds with respect and cultural responsiveness.

Responsibilities

• Use Zoom to present information and run series or workshops as needed.
• Welcome participants and create a positive and inclusive environment.
• Facilitate discussions using the Parent Café model and guiding questions.
• Encourage meaningful participation while maintaining a respectful atmosphere.
• Support family engagement and relationship building among participants.
• Share information regarding community resources and available services.
• Maintain attendance records and submit required documentation.
• Assist with participant outreach and recruitment efforts.
• Collaborate with Pathways to Parenting staff and community partners.
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism when interacting with families.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
