Job summary

Samaritas in Kalamazoo, MI is seeking a Parenting Coach to support families and children in Foster Care by coaching parents, supervising visits, and promoting reunification when possible. This full-time role requires strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to safety and positive development.

Responsibilities include observing parent-child interactions, delivering real-time feedback, coordinating with caseworkers, and using established tools to guide visits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in human services or a related field (required).
• At least one year of experience working with families facing complex challenges.
• Strong knowledge of child development.
• Experience in school, daycare, or family support settings preferred.
• Familiarity with the Nurturing Parent Program, AAPI, or NSCS is a plus.
• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
• Reliable, insured vehicle for local travel.
• Ability to work flexible or nontraditional hours.
