Job summary

Samaritas in Kalamazoo, MI is seeking a dedicated Parenting Coach to support families and help children thrive in safe environments. This full-time role involves supervising family visits, coaching parents, and documenting progress.

You will conduct pre/post assessments, collaborate with caseworkers, and assist with transportation as needed. A BA in human services and at least one year of experience are required; familiarity with Nurturing Parent Program, AAPI, or NSCS is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in human services or a related field (required).
• At least one year of experience working with families facing challenges.
• Strong knowledge of child development.
• Experience in school, daycare, or family support settings preferred.
• Familiarity with the Nurturing Parent Program, AAPI, or NSCS is a plus.

• Help parents identify visitation goals and reinforce positive development.

In this meaningful role, you will supervise and coach family visits for children in foster care, helping parents strengthen their skills, rebuild trust, and work toward reunification—all while ensuring the safety and well-being of each child.
