Job summary

Cffde seeks a part-time community outreach liaison to foster parent engagement at Maurice Pritchett Academy in Wilmington. You will develop relationships with parents, school staff, and neighborhood organizations, coordinating workshops, trainings, and events that connect families with available services.

The role emphasizes evening/weekend activity availability and is limited to up to 25 hours per week with no benefits. Bilingual Spanish/English is desirable.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 2 years of related experience.
• AA degree with experience desirable.
• Bilingual Spanish/English desirable.
• Must be flexible with regard to schedule for some evening and/or weekend activities.
• Former or current parent and/or resident of the feeder area preferred.

• Establish linkages with neighborhood-based organizations for the purpose of information gathering, referral and advocacy for families.
• Engage parents in school activities through community outreach. Support parent resource center activities at school, including information and referral to services for families as appropriate.
• Maintain communication with parents of all services, training, and program opportunities available through the community schools project.
• Work in partnership with the Community School Site Coordinator at the assigned school and school staff to plan ongoing workshops, training and seminars for parents.
• Take the lead role as needed to plan and coordinate events. Recruit target families and connect them with the services appropriate to them, identifying specific needs and any barriers.
• Maintain attendance records for all parent activities and classes.
• Part‑time, hourly positions (Up to 25 hours/week), no benefits.
• Work during school year only, 10 months/ year.

Position location is at Maurice Pritchett Academy in Wilmington.
