Job summary

Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) invites undergraduates to join the Paratransit Command Center Scheduling team as Emerging Talent Intern. This onsite internship at 33-00 Northern Blvd, Long Island City, NY 11101 provides hands-on experience in trip scheduling, event planning, and data analysis under real-world ADA service operations.

Qualifications

• Matriculated in an undergraduate program with at least a 2.5 GPA.
• Majors preferred: Urban Planning, Administration, Liberal Arts or related fields.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States; transcript required.

Responsibilities

• Create Floater routes to accommodate and support special events and delays in service.
• Assist in the coordination of special event assignments to ensure smooth operations.
• Document and track daily activities and modifications to support monthly summary reports.
• Support research and investigation of customer complaints and service issues for resolution.
• Assist department with the E-hail pilot reconciliation process and reports to maintain accuracy.
• Analyze and update the carrier matrix to improve service coverage.
• Provide assistance in creating grids to support road closures for events.
• Assist in analyzing daily trip forecasts to manage and optimize service needs.
• Development of holiday schedules, ensuring acceptable capacity for service demand.
• Evaluation of subscription customers, improving on time performance and customer satisfaction.
• Analyzing carrier matrix to improve vehicle utilization.
