Job summary

Supplemental Health Care, Inc. is seeking a school-based paraprofessional to support teachers and students with special needs.

You will work one-on-one or in small groups to assist with classroom duties, behavior plans, and daily routines, contributing to an inclusive learning environment. Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or equivalent, experience with children, and comfort with mobility or personal care support.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; ETS ParaPro score or associate degree.
• At least two years of college study (48 sem. hours or 72 quarter hours).
• Minimum 1 year experience working with children.
• Experience with children with special needs, disabilities, or behavior management.
• Proficient in standard computer applications.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support students one-on-one or in small groups with classwork, communication, and daily routines.
• Assist with implementing behavior plans and IEP goals with care and consistency.
• Assist students who may require help with mobility, personal care, or emotional regulation.
• Create a positive learning environment where all students can thrive.
• Team with teachers, therapists, and staff to support student success.
• Celebrate small victories every day and provide reliable support.

School Hours | Monday – Friday | Pay: $21.25 - $22.90 per hour

Qualifications:

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent AND either a Passing Score on the ETS ParaPro Exam OR an associate degree or higher from an accredited college or university; or at least two years of study (defined as 48 semester hours or 72 quarter hours) at an accredited college.
• Minimum of 1 year experience working with children
• Prior experience working with children with special needs, physical/mental disabilities, or behavior management
• Proficient in the use of standard computer applications
• Must have excellent written and oral communication skills
• The ability to work collaboratively with existing staff
• Supporting students one-on-one or in small groups with classwork, communication, and daily routines
• Helping implement behavior plans and IEP goals with care and consistency
• Assisting students with special needs who may require help with mobility, personal care, or emotional regulation
• Creating a positive learning environment where all students can thrive
