Job summary

Supplemental Health Care, Inc. is seeking a paraprofessional to support teachers in partnering school districts. You will help students with special needs academically, socially, and emotionally in a caring, inclusive classroom.

Role involves one-on-one or small-group assistance, implementing behavior plans and IEP goals, and collaborating with staff to create a positive learning environment and smooth daily routines.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent and relevant exam/degree per qualifications.
• Minimum of 1 year experience working with children.
• Prior experience with special needs, disabilities, or behavior management.
• Proficient in standard computer applications.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate with staff and support students in small groups or 1:1.

Responsibilities

• Support students one-on-one or in small groups with classwork, communication, and daily routines.
• Help implement behavior plans and IEP goals with care and consistency.
• Assist students with mobility, personal care, or emotional regulation as needed.
• Contribute to a positive learning environment and collaborate with teachers and therapists.

School Hours | Monday – Friday | Pay: $20.80 - $22.40 per hour

Qualifications:

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent AND either a Passing Score on the ETS ParaPro Exam OR an associate degree or higher from an accredited college or university; or at least two years of study (defined as 48 semester hours or 72 quarter hours) at an accredited college.
• Minimum of 1 year experience working with children
• Prior experience working with children with special needs, physical/mental disabilities, or behavior management
• Proficient in the use of standard computer applications
• Must have excellent written and oral communication skills
• The ability to work collaboratively with existing staff
• Supporting students one‑on‑one or in small groups with classwork, communication, and daily routines
• Helping implement behavior plans and IEP goals with care and consistency
• Assisting students with special needs who may require help with mobility, personal care, or emotional regulation
• Creating a positive learning environment where all students can thrive
