Job summary

Supplemental Health Care, Inc. is seeking paraprofessionals to join partnering school districts and help students with special needs succeed academically, socially, and emotionally.

You’ll support students one-on-one or in small groups, assist with mobility or daily routines, help implement behavior plans and IEP goals, and work closely with teachers, therapists, and staff to create a safe, inclusive classroom where every student feels valued.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with ParaPro exam or associate degree or higher or 48 semester hours/72 quarter hours.
• Minimum of 1 year experience with children.
• Experience with children with special needs or behavior management is preferred.
• Proficient in standard computer applications.

Responsibilities

• Support students one-on-one or in small groups with classwork, communication, and daily routines.
• Help implement behavior plans and IEP goals with care and consistency.
• Assist students with mobility, personal care, or emotional regulation as required.
• Create a positive, inclusive learning environment.
• Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and staff to support student success.
• Celebrate small victories and foster a supportive classroom.

Qualifications:

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent AND either a Passing Score on the ETS ParaPro Exam OR an associate degree or higher from an accredited college or university; or at least two years of study (defined as 48 semester hours or 72 quarter hours) at an accredited college.
• Minimum of 1 year experience working with children
• Prior experience working with children with special needs, physical/mental disabilities, or behavior management
• Proficient in the use of standard computer applications
• Must have excellent written and oral communication skills
• The ability to work collaboratively with existing staff
• Supporting students one-on-one or in small groups with classwork, communication, and daily routines
• Helping implement behavior plans and IEP goals with care and consistency
• Assisting students with special needs who may require help with mobility, personal care, or emotional regulation
• Creating a positive learning environment where all students can thrive
• Teaming up with teachers, therapists, and staff to make school a great place to be
• Celebrating small victories every single day
• Willingness to assist with physical or behavioral needs as required
