The Indian River School District is seeking a Paraprofessional for a temporary full-time position for the 2026-2027 school year at Long Neck Elementary School.

The role requires meeting one of the following: an Associate Degree or higher, 60 credit hours with a C or better, or passing the ParaPro/Para Pathways assessment with transcript or GED equivalency. A clean background check and TB test are required prior to employment.

• Utilize knowledge of the social, emotional, medical, and academic needs of individual students obtained through collaboration with teacher and/or specialist.
• Collaborate with the teacher, paraprofessionals and/or related services providers about the plans and implementation of activities and resources for the students.
• Understand and implement the student's IEP goals and objectives, as well as any accommodations to ensure the student's success.
• Provide support to students as needed.
• Work with students in variety of ways, which may include an individual, small group, or whole group settings.
• Assist in ongoing monitoring of student progress which may include assessments, data collection and computer work.
• Support in maintaining student discipline using behavior management plan as directed by classroom teacher.
• Perform other duties as requested by administration to meet the needs of the students.

Qualifications

  • Associate Degree or higher
  • Completion of 60 credit hours with a ‘C' or better
  • Passing test score on the ParaPro or Para Pathways Assessment & official high school transcript or GED equivalency
