Responsibilities include:

• Working with students to reinforce lessons introduced by teachers.
• Assisting students needing special attention.
• Guiding independent and modified work prepared by teachers.
• Supporting instructional practices and procedures at the teachers' discretion.
• Assisting with non-instructional classroom duties such as cleanup routines, supervision of playground, study hall, bus loading, assemblies, and field trips.
• Supporting students in special area classes where appropriate.
• Alerting teachers to any problems or special information about students.
• Participating in other projects as assigned by teachers or administration.

Minimum qualifications:

• High School diploma.
• NCLB and State paraprofessional certification.
• Specialized training (e.g., restraint training) as needed.
• Valid First Aid/CPR cards preferred.

Physical requirements:

• Ability to move freely within the building and perform duties involving standing, walking, sitting, bending, and lifting.
• Frequent repetitive activities involving hands and arms.
• Occasional exposure to noise and activity typical of a school environment.
• Ability to travel outside the district for meetings and conferences.

Terms of employment:

• Full-time position, 7.5-hour workday, at $20/hour.
