Job summary

Supplemental Health Care, Inc. is seeking a Paraprofessional to work with teachers in partnering school districts, supporting students with special needs academically, socially, and emotionally.

You will help create an inclusive classroom, assist with classwork, routines, and behavior plans, and collaborate with therapists and staff to ensure students feel seen and capable.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or equivalent and either ParaPro exam pass or associate degree or 48/72 credit hours
• Minimum 1 year experience with children
• Experience with children with special needs, physical/mental disabilities, or behavior management
• Proficient in standard computer applications
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with staff
• Supporting students one-on-one or in small groups with classwork, communication, and daily routines
• Helping implement behavior plans and IEP goals with care and consistency
• Assisting students with special needs who may require mobility, personal care, or emotional regulation
• Creating a positive learning environment where all students can thrive
• Teaming up with teachers, therapists, and staff to make school a great place to be
• Celebrating small victories every day
• Willingness to assist with physical or behavioral needs as required

Qualifications:

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent AND either a Passing Score on the ETS ParaPro Exam OR an associate degree or higher from an accredited college or university; or at least two years of study (defined as 48 semester hours or 72 quarter hours) at an accredited college.
• Minimum of 1 year experience working with children
• Prior experience working with children with special needs, physical/mental disabilities, or behavior management
• Proficient in the use of standard computer applications
• Must have excellent written and oral communication skills
• The ability to work collaboratively with existing staff
