Job summary

Cleveland Heights University Heights City Schools seeks a Paraprofessional for Preschool Special Education at Oxford Elementary School. You will assist teachers and support students with special needs in daily instructional activities.

The position requires 2 years of college coursework or an associate degree, plus one year of related experience and an Educational Aide Permit or Ohio teaching license. Scheduling is 8:15AM–3:45PM, Monday–Friday.

Qualifications

Description

Assist teachers, counselors and administrators in providing educational services to students with special needs. Work will involve assisting students with remedial, enrichment and/or independent living activities as well as supporting instructional and educational goals.

Job Summary

• Minimum of 7.0 hours/day, 5 days/week, 195 days/year
• Elementary School Parapro Day: 8:15AM - 3:45 PM, Monday - Friday

Minimum Qualifications

• 2 years of college coursework
• OR an Associate's Degree or higher
• OR high school diploma with the passage of the ParaPro Assessment prior to employment
• One year of related successful work experience
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Experience in operating basic office equipment, such as copiers
• Ability to lift equipment, supplies and/or children weighing at least forty (40) pounds
• Physical ability to perform all of the essential functions of the job.
• An active Educational Aide Permit(1-Year or 4-Year) or a teaching licenseissued by the Ohio Department of Education

Salary

$17.47/hour (non-degreed); $19.74/hour (2-year degree); $21.50 (Teaching Certificate)
