Job summary

Supplemental Health Care, Inc. is seeking paraprofessionals to join our team and work alongside teachers in partnering school districts across Colorado.

You will support students with special needs, assist with classwork, mobility, and daily routines, and help implement IEP goals in a collaborative environment. A strong candidate has at least a high school diploma or equivalent, experience with children, and solid communication skills.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent with ParaPro exam or associate degree or higher OR 48 semester hours/72 quarter hours completed
• Minimum of 1 year experience working with children
• Prior experience with children with special needs or behavior management
• Proficient in standard computer applications
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with staff
• At least two years SPED public school classroom experience
• Support students one-on-one or in small groups
• Assist with behavior plans and IEP goals
• Assist students with mobility, personal care, or emotional regulation
• Create a positive learning environment
• Work with teachers, therapists, and staff
• Celebrate small victories daily
• Willingness to assist with physical or behavioral needs

Qualifications:

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent AND either a Passing Score on the ETS ParaPro Exam OR an associate degree or higher from an accredited college or university; or at least two years of study (defined as 48 semester hours or 72 quarter hours) at an accredited college.
• Minimum of 1 year experience working with children
• Prior experience working with children with special needs, physical/mental disabilities, or behavior management
• Proficient in the use of standard computer applications
• Must have excellent written and oral communication skills
• The ability to work collaboratively with existing staff
• Must have a minimum of two years of SPED public school classroom experience
• Supporting students one-on-one or in small groups with classwork, communication, and daily routines
• Helping implement behavior plans and IEP goals with care and consistency
• Assisting students with special needs who may require help with mobility, personal care, or emotional regulation
• Creating a positive learning environment where all students can thrive
• Teaming up with teachers, therapists, and staff to make school a great place to be
