Job summary

Supplemental Health Care is hiring Paraprofessionals to work alongside teachers at partnering school districts to help students with special needs succeed academically, socially, and emotionally.

You will assist with classwork, one-on-one support, mobility or personal care as needed, and help implement behavior plans and IEP goals. A collaborative, positive classroom environment is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with ParaPro score or an associate degree/48 semester hours or 72 quarter hours.
• At least 1 year experience with children.
• Experience with children with special needs or behavior management.
• Good written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with staff.
• Experience supporting students one-on-one or in small groups.
• Experience implementing behavior plans and IEP goals.
• Ability to assist with mobility, personal care, or emotional regulation as needed.
• Ability to create a positive learning environment.

School Hours | Monday - Friday | Pay: $18.60 - $20 per hour

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent AND either a Passing Score on the ETS ParaPro Exam OR an associate degree or higher from an accredited college or university; or at least two years of study (defined as 48 semester hours or 72 quarter hours) at an accredited college.
• Minimum of 1 year experience working with children
• Prior experience working with children with special needs, physical/mental disabilities, or behavior management
• Proficient in the use of standard computer applications
• Must have excellent written and oral communication skills
• The ability to work collaboratively with existing staff
• Supporting students one-on-one or in small groups with classwork, communication, and daily routines
• Helping implement behavior plans and IEP goals with care and consistency
• Assisting students with special needs who may require help with mobility, personal care, or emotional regulation
• Creating a positive learning environment where all students can thrive
• Teaming up with teachers, therapists, and staff to make school a great place to be
