Job summary

Springfield Public Schools is seeking a Paraprofessional III to support the instructional program within the Special Education department. You will assist in individual or small group instruction across subject areas and monitor student behavior and progress under the supervision of the classroom teacher.

Responsibilities include preparing instructional materials, aiding in social development, documenting student performance, and helping maintain records.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year related experience preferred.
• Must obtain current Substitute Teaching Certificate; see dese.mo.gov.
• Must pass Criminal Background Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing and presenting instructional materials.
• Support students' learning, self-care, and social development.
• Attend meetings, trainings, and convey information.
• Communicate progress with teachers for needs assessments.
• Document observations of student performance for records.
• Escort and supervise students to ensure welfare.
• Guide students in interpersonal skills and problem solving.
• Maintain instructional files and records.
• Monitor student performance and provide feedback.
• Report health and safety issues to staff and authorities.
• Support students in various educational environments.
