Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency is required.
• Completion of 48 hours college credit or pass equivalency exam.
• Ability to complete annual in-service training.

• Adapts to a variety of classroom situations.
• Understands students and the learning process.

Responsibilities

• Assist in daily instruction and training.
• Assist students in achieving their individual objectives.
• Record/chart student data.
• Perform related clerical functions and greet visitors.
• Set up equipment for class work.
• Monitor students when the teacher is otherwise occupied.
• Under the teacher's direction, evaluate student work.
• Communicate effectively with patrons and students.
• Participate in lesson/activity planning.
• Guide independent study and enrichment work.
• Assist with supervision of students during drills, trips, lunch, and recreation.
