Job summary

Springfield Public Schools is seeking a Paraprofessional I to support instructional programs and help students reach targeted goals. This part-time, non-benefitted position schedules up to 18 hours per week and reports to the Principal.

Responsibilities include assisting in general and special education settings, preparing materials, documenting student progress, and ensuring safe, positive learning environments aligned with IEPs and district policies.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 60 college hours completed or certificate of completion from a DESE-approved Substitute Training program.
• Previous job-related experience preferred.
• Missouri Substitute Teaching Certificate is required.
• CPR and First Aid certification preferred.
• Criminal Background Clearance required.

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers in adapting and presenting instructional materials for individual or small groups.
• Monitor and report student behavior and performance.
• Communicate progress with teachers and participate in needs assessments.
• Maintain written records and be able to provide required documentation.
• Escort students and support social development and safety in classrooms.
