Job Description

The L.D. Batchelder Elementary School is seeking a part-time General Paraprofessional, at 0.4 FTE or approximately 14 hours/week. North Reading Public Schools is actively looking to build a diverse workforce to ensure all students feel welcome, safe, and valued for who they are and supported to reach their potential.

This position is two (2.0) days per week, Thursdays and Fridays, for the full school day (roughly 7:45 AM-2:30 PM).

Essential Duties

• Assist the classroom teachers in creating an environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students
• Provide assistance to students in instructional activities
• Implement physical assistance to students as required
• Facilitate establishing and maintaining standards of student behavior
• Support teacher with preparation of instructional materials
• Collaborate on school-based supervision of arrival, dismissal, lunch (Pre-K - Gr. 5), recess, bus duty, and /or classrooms
• Cover general office duties as needed
• Provide assistance to the principal and staff in the daily management of the school
• Substitute at all grade levels as requested
• Assume other duties/responsibilities as designated by the Principal, Teacher, and/or Designee

Requirements
