Job summary

North Reading Public Schools is seeking a part-time General Paraprofessional at L. D. Batchelder Elementary School in North Reading, MA.

The role is 0.4 FTE (about 14 hours/week), two school days (Thu and Fri) for the full day, and involves supporting instruction and supervision. Requirements include strong communication, multi-tasking ability, and a preferred Bachelor’s degree with at least two years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to multi-task and problem solve independently.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• At least two years of relevant experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the classroom teachers in creating an environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students.
• Provide assistance to students in instructional activities.
• Implement physical assistance to students as required.
• Facilitate establishing and maintaining standards of student behavior.
• Support teacher with preparation of instructional materials.
• Collaborate on school-based supervision of arrival, dismissal, lunch, recess, bus duty, and classrooms.
