Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • 36-60 college credits or DESE approved 20-hour substitute certification preferred.
  • Missouri substitute certification preferred; see DESE site for details.
  • Ability to relate to students, staff and parents in a positive manner.
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
  • Ability to use word processing and data entry systems.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 75 lbs occasionally and to squat, bend, kneel, reach, walk and stand frequently.
  • Ability to problem solve professionally and remain calm and patient.
  • Ability to motivate students for classroom achievements.

Responsibilities

  • Assist students with disabilities according to individualized needs, including transfers to and from wheelchairs and lifting or positioning.
  • Assist with medical or personal care such as feeding, bathroom needs, and personal hygiene.
  • Assist in managing student behavior and maintain classroom order.
  • Keep teachers informed of any special needs or problems of individual students.
  • Maintain confidentiality of student information.
  • Participate in staff development training, faculty meetings, and school events as requested.
  • Help supervise arrival/departure and provide supervision across multiple settings during the day.
  • Follow instructions from teachers and administrators.

Job description

Orchard Farm School District is seeking full-time paraprofessionals to join our team for the 2025-2026 school year!

Our mission is to empower each learner to excel in diverse communities. Orchard Farm School District is located in St. Charles County, MO with a current enrollment of approximately 2,600 students and growing. Over the last decade, new developments like Charlestowne and New Town, situated along Highway 370, have contributed significantly to our increase in enrollment. Paraprofessionals provide social, physical, and academic support and/or supervision in general and special education settings, including but not limited to the cafeteria, classrooms, recess, and assemblies. These services may include ambulatory, eating, and toileting assistance.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High School diploma or equivalent, required
  • 36-60 credit hours from an accredited college/university or DESE approved 20-hour substitute certification course, preferred.

An individual who holds this position is required to:
  • Assist students with disabilities according to their individualized needs, including transferring to and from wheelchairs, lifting, or positioning

  • Keep the teacher informed of any special needs or problems of individual students

The position is in a regular school setting that is noisy and active. Occassional outdoor activities are required, such as loading and unloading students from district transportation and supervising recess.
