Job summary

The Muscogee County School District is seeking a Paraprofessional for the Computer Lab to support instructional activities and student learning with computer programs under the guidance of the classroom teacher and district standards.

Responsibilities include assisting with instructional delivery, managing computer hardware/software, and performing clerical tasks while maintaining safe, conducive learning environments and regular attendance.

Qualifications

• Educational Level: Minimum 60 semester/100 quarter hours or passing GACE Paraprofessional Assessment. If GACE scores, verification of HS diploma/GED required.
• Certification/License: Must maintain Georgia Paraprofessional Certificate with in-service training.
• Experience: None
• Physical Activities: Routine physical activities required to fulfill job responsibilities
• Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Written and oral communication; instructional strategies connecting the curriculum to learners; student management.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates prompt and regular attendance.
• Adheres to district policies and procedures.
• Assists in delivering academic instruction using computer programs prescribed by teacher/district.
• Assists students with computer hardware/software through modeling and guidance.
• Performs clerical duties such as scheduling, recordkeeping, ordering supplies.
• Performs minor computer maintenance like dusting keyboards and screens.
• Performs troubleshooting to maintain computer and network operations.
• Runs maintenance programs to keep systems running.
• Takes precautions to protect students and maintain a safe learning environment.
• Performs other duties as assigned by administrator.

REQUIREMENTS

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

• 1. Demonstrates prompt and regular attendance.
• 2. Adheres to district policies and departmental, building, and classroom procedures.
• 3. Assists in the delivery of academic instruction through the use of computer programs prescribed by the teacher and district.
• 4. Assists students with the use of computer hardware and software appropriately through modeling, demonstrating, providing information, physical proximity, verbal encouragement, and reinforcement.
• 5. Performs clerical responsibilities such as schedules, recordkeeping, ordering supplies, etc.
• 6. Performs minor computer maintenance procedures such as dusting keyboards, monitors, cleaning computer screens, etc.
• 7. Performs troubleshooting techniques to maintain computer and network operations.
• 8. Runs maintenance programs to keep systems running properly.
• 9. Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students and provide a safe environment conducive to learning
• 10. Performs other duties as assigned by appropriate administrator.
