Job summary

Huntley Community School District 158 is seeking a Paraprofessional 1:1 Aide for the LIGHT Program for the 2026/2027 school year. The position is 10 months, full-time, with a pay range of $18.03 to $19.28 per hour and additional stipends based on assignment.

Responsibilities include assisting students with special needs, following a strict schedule, and helping the teacher meet IEP goals. Must hold an ELS paraprofessional license or PEL and have solid communication, math, and computer skills.

Qualifications

• Good written and oral communication skills, ability to communicate with staff, parents and students.
• Basic math and computer skills as well as some general office skills are needed.

RANGE OF PAY: $18.03- $19.28 / Hour. Additional stipends available based upon assignment

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist student(s) with special needs throughout the day with academics and daily school routines. Will assist the student(s) in following a strict schedule and maintaining his/her safety while school is in session. Support the students and teacher to ensure success of each student in meeting his/her IEP goals. Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

SUMMARY OF QUALIFICATIONS: MUST hold an ELS (Paraprofessional) license or Professional Educator License (PEL). Good written and oral communication skills, ability to communicate with all levels of staff, parents and students. Basic math and computer skills as well as some general office skills are needed.
