Job description

A client's file arrives as a stack of statements: two IRAs, a 401(k), an annuity contract with an income rider, a pension estimate, a Social Security statement, and whatever the advisor captured in the first meeting. Your job is to turn that into a complete, accurate case the advisor can present — and to know, before anyone else does, what's missing.

Foundations Investment Advisors is an SEC-registered investment adviser headquartered in Phoenix, with more than $12 billion in AUM and nearly 300 advisors nationwide. Our advisors are our clients. The planning team prepares its cases, and this analyst is the front end of that process.

The work
  • Read client financial statements, investment accounts, insurance and annuity documents, and extract what matters: holdings, allocation, account types, cost basis, fees, contract values, riders, surrender schedules, and income bases.
  • Organize and enter that data consistently across our systems, and reconcile it when sources disagree.
  • Run investment, risk, retirement income, and portfolio analysis in Morningstar, Kwanti, Income Lab, and Nitrogen, plus our proprietary planning tools.
  • Build the reports, illustrations, and current-versus-proposed comparisons that advisors and the planning team present.
  • Flag incomplete cases at intake with a specific request, not a vague one, and keep each case moving from information gathering through analysis to presentation.
  • Learn our internal methodology. We train the platforms and the process; we don't expect you to arrive knowing them.

Your work is reviewed by a CFP®-led planning team before it reaches a household. You will not advise clients or choose investment models, and no license is required. Volume is real — several cases in motion at once — and the standard is accuracy first, turnaround second.

What we need from you
  • Financial services experience or working knowledge of investments, retirement planning, insurance, annuities, or wealth management. This is required.
  • Fluency with asset allocation, risk, performance, account types, and retirement income concepts.
  • A demonstrated record of accurate, detailed work with multiple items in progress.
  • Comfort working across several software platforms and learning new ones quickly.

Preferred, not required: a paraplanner, financial planning assistant, advisor support, or investment operations background at an RIA, broker-dealer, insurance organization, or planning firm; hands-on time in Morningstar, Kwanti, Income Lab, Nitrogen, or similar tools.

Terms
  • Location: our Phoenix headquarters at 4050 E. Cotton Center Blvd. On-site, five days a week; this is not a hybrid role.
  • Benefits: medical, dental, vision, life, and long-term disability coverage; 401(k) with a 100% company match on the first 6%; 15 days of PTO (increases w/tenure) plus paid holidays and much more.

This is an early-career analyst seat. It suits someone who would rather own a case end-to-end at a fast-growing RIA than move paperwork at a large broker-dealer, who likes being the person who catches the wrong number, and who wants to learn planning on a national platform's case flow. If that's you.
