Job summary

Descartes Underwriting Group in the Americas is seeking a Business Development Executive - Reinsurance (AVP/VP) to grow our parametric reinsurance and retrocession business. You will originate, structure and close new deals while deepening broker and cedent relationships.

Collaborating with underwriting and modelling teams in the US and Paris, you will travel to market with brokers and clients to lead multi-stakeholder negotiations in a fast-growing, tech-driven company.

Qualifications

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Strong analytical capabilities and financial acumen.
• Consultative selling and negotiation skills, with ability to lead complex, multi-stakeholder deals.

Responsibilities

• Originate, structure and close new reinsurance and retrocession business, and secure renewals.
• Build and maintain a strong pipeline across target cedents, segments and perils; keep CRM and forecasting up to date.
• Lead deals through the full sales cycle, from prospecting to binding, and contribute to business targets.
