Job summary

HCA Florida North Florida Hospital is seeking a Paramedic Transport PRN to join our team. The Paramedic responds to medical emergencies and provides advanced critical care during transport to the hospital, partnering with firefighters and police at the scene.

You will perform life saving support, administer treatments, and guide EMTs, with duties including operating emergency medical vehicles, evaluating patient conditions, and ensuring patient stability during transport.

Qualifications

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support within 30 days of employment start date
• Basic Cardiac Life Support within 30 days of employment start date
• IS-00100 NIMS Command Sys within 6 months of employment start date
• IS-00200 NIMS IC Sngl Res within 6 months of employment start date
• IS-00700 NIMS Introduction within 6 months of employment start date
• IS-00800B NIMS Resp Framework within 6 months of employment start date
• (EVOC) Emergency Vehicle Operations Course within 30 days of employment start date
• PALS Pediatric Adv Life Supt, or Ped Educ Prehosp Prof, or Vocational School Graduate, or Associate Degree, or Work Experience in lieu of Degree within 30 days of employment start date
• 3 years experience Required Years of Experience
• (DL) Driver License within 30 days of employment start date

Responsibilities

• Operate emergency medical vehicle and respond to calls for aid in emergent situations.
• Evaluate patient condition to establish the right course of treatment.
• Provide a variety of emergency medical treatment to injured, sick, or incapacitated persons.
• Perform invasive procedures under adverse conditions.
• Manage non-medical situations such as crowd control and protecting the valuables of a patient if necessary.
• Lift and transport patients, ensuring patients remain stable during transport.
• Communicate patient data and condition to professional medical personnel at emergency treatment facility.

Job Summary and Qualifications

The Paramedic responds to medical emergencies and provides advanced critical care during the transport to the hospital. As the first healthcare provider at the scene, the Paramedic partners with firefighters and police in evaluating the situation. The Paramedic offers basic and advanced life saving support, administers treatments, and directs EMTs in delivering patient care consistent with training and level of certification.
