Job summary

HCA Florida Palms West Hospital is seeking a Paramedic for ED Transport on a PRN basis in Florida. The role involves responding to emergencies, providing advanced life support, and coordinating with fire/police on scene.

You will assist as the first healthcare provider, administer care, and guide EMTs during transport to the hospital. Qualifications include Paramedic credential, DL, and certifications like ACLS/BLS with required timeframes.

Qualifications

• Paramedic certification and licensure required or in process.
• ACLS and BLS must be obtained within specified timeframes.
• Nonviolent Crisis Intervention within 60 days.
• PALS within 30 days.
• EVOC within 60 days.
• Paramedic credential and DL required.
• Associate degree or vocational training completed.
• DL license required.

Responsibilities

• Operate emergency medical vehicle and respond to emergency calls.
• Evaluate patient condition and determine course of treatment.
• Provide basic and advanced life support during transport.
• Perform invasive procedures under conditions.
• Manage non-medical scene elements and protect patient belongings.
• Lift and transport patients while maintaining stability.
• Communicate patient data to receiving medical staff.

Job Summary and Qualifications

The Paramedic responds to medical emergencies and provides advanced critical care during the transport to the hospital. As the first healthcare provider at the scene, the Paramedic partners with firefighters and police in evaluating the situation. The Paramedic offers basic and advanced life saving support, administers treatments, and directs EMTs in delivering patient care consistent with training and level of certification.

What you will do in this role;

• Operate emergency medical vehicle and responds to calls for aid in emergent situations.
• Evaluate patient condition to establish the right course of treatment.
• Provide a variety of emergency medical treatment to injured, sick, or incapacitated persons.
• Perform invasive procedures under adverse conditions.
• Manage non-medical situations such as crowd control and protecting the valuables of a patient if necessary.
• Lift and transport patients, ensuring patients remain stable during transport.
• Communicate patient data and condition to professional medical personnel at emergency treatment facility.

What qualifications you will need:

• Advanced Cardiac Life Spt must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• Nonviolent Crisis Intervention must be obtained within 60 days of employment start date
• PALS Pediatric Adv Life Supt must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• (EVOC) Emergency Vehicle Operations Course must be obtained within 60 days of employment start date
