Job summary

HCA Florida Gulf Coast Hospital is seeking a Transport Paramedic to respond to emergencies, provide advanced life support, and coordinate with EMS teams. You will operate EMS vehicles, evaluate patients, and deliver critical care during transport to the hospital.

Role requires EVOC within 90 days, paramedic certification, valid DL, and timely completion of ACLS, BCLS, and PALS within specified days. Comprehensive benefits and ongoing training are offered.

Qualifications

• EVOC must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date.
• Paramedic certification or license required.
• Driver License (DL) required.
• ACLS or related advanced cardiac life support credentials must be obtained within 60 days of start date.
• BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support) must be obtained within 30 days.
• PALS or Pediatric Advanced Life Support must be obtained within 60 days.

Responsibilities

• Operate emergency medical vehicle and respond to calls for aid in emergent situations.
• Evaluate patient condition to determine the right course of treatment.
• Provide a range of emergency medical treatments to injured or ill individuals.
• Perform invasive procedures under challenging conditions.
• Manage non-medical tasks such as crowd control and protecting patient property.
• Lift and transport patients ensuring stability during transport.
• Communicate patient data and condition to receiving EMS teams.

Job Summary And Qualifications

The Paramedic responds to medical emergencies and provides advanced critical care during the transport to the hospital. As the first healthcare provider at the scene, the Paramedic partners with firefighters and police in evaluating the situation. The Paramedic offers basic and advanced life saving support, administers treatments, and directs EMTs in delivering patient care consistent with training and level of certification.

What you will do in this role:

• Operate emergency medical vehicle and responds to calls for aid in emergent situations.
• Evaluate patient condition to establish the right course of treatment.
• Provide a variety of emergency medical treatment to injured, sick, or incapacitated persons.
• Perform invasive procedures under adverse conditions.
• Manage non-medical situations such as crowd control and protecting the valuables of a patient if necessary.
• Lift and transport patients, ensuring patients remain stable during transport.
• Communicate patient data and condition to professional medical personnel at emergency treatment facility.

What qualifications you will need:

• (EVOC) Emergency Vehicle Operations Course must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
• Paramedic
• (DL) Driver License
• Advanced Cardiac Life Spt, or ACLS Instructor, or Associate Degree, or Certificate must be obtained within 60 days of employment start date
• Basic Cardiac Life Support, or BCLS Instructor must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• PALS Pediatric Adv Life Supt, or PALS Instructor must be obtained within 60 days of employment start date
