Job summary

St. Mary’s County Government seeks an EMS Lieutenant to supervise daily field operations of the Emergency Medical Services Division and assist in the QA/QI program through direct field observation of personnel.

The Lieutenant will work closely with both career and volunteer EMS clinicians, provide advanced life support as policy dictates, and ensure compliance with the County’s policies and procedures in all EMS activities.

Performs administrative duties and supervisory fieldwork in the Department of Emergency Services, Emergency Medical Services Division (EMS). EMS Division Lieutenants are responsible for supervising and assisting in the day-to-day field operations of the division. Lieutenants will assist in the County's QA/QI program through field observation of personnel. The Lieutenant is responsible for working closely with the County's EMS clinicians from both career and volunteer agencies.
