Job summary

Charleston County EMS is seeking a Paramedic Shift Supervisor to lead EMS shift operations, oversee patient care, and uphold the department's values and mission. The role emphasizes command presence during incidents and collaboration with the management team to advance department initiatives.

The candidate must hold SC paramedic certification (NREMT preferred), a valid SC driver's license, BLS, ACLS, ITLS or PHTLS, and have EMS leadership experience including incident command and performance

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required; Associate’s Degree preferred.
• Two years of EMS leadership experience in a 911 system.
• Valid SC Driver’s License with clean DMV record before start.
• SC Paramedic Certification; National Registry preferred.
• BLS, ACLS, ITLS or PHTLS, PEPP or PALS certifications.
• ICS certifications 100–800.

Responsibilities

• Lead EMS shift leadership and operations; supervise evaluations and incident management.
• Oversee emergency medical care and ensure adherence to department values and mission.
• Work days, nights, weekends and holidays; participate in projects and initiatives to move the department forward.
• May have special projects as part of normal duties; contribute as a positive member of the management team.
