Job summary

Aiken County EMS is seeking an experienced EMS shift supervisor to oversee administrative and field operations for an assigned shift. You will supervise the Assistant Shift Manager, manage scheduling, personnel performance, policy enforcement, and readiness of shift vehicles.

Responsibilities include deployment decisions, timekeeping, and coordination with dispatch and leadership. Position requires extensive EMS experience, paramedic certification in SC, and multi-disciplinary leadership

Qualifications

• Must hold SC paramedic certification and maintain through employment.
• Experience supervising EMS staff, scheduling, and policy enforcement.
• Strong administrative reporting and resource coordination skills.
• Educational background preferred in EMS management or related field.
• Valid driver's license and ability to operate county vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and staff shift coverage, monitor leave, overtime, and workload.
• Supervise the Assistant Shift Manager and crew, evaluate performance.
• Enforce County rules and coordinate disciplinary actions as needed.
• Maintain vehicle and equipment status, coordinate repairs and replacements.
• Direct shift deployment to ensure countywide coverage and reliability.
• Oversee timekeeping, attendance, and administrative records.
• Review shift trends and coordinate quality improvements with QA/QI.
• Coordinate required training and staff development activities.
• Provide higher-level emergency oversight and command support when needed.
• Prepare consolidated shift reports and ensure proper handoffs.
