Job summary

Texas Health HEB in Bedford, TX is seeking a Paramedic (EMT-P) for the Emergency Department. This PRN/Evening shift role supports a fast-paced ED handling 100–200 patients daily.

You will work with physicians, RNs and respiratory therapy, performing advanced clinical skills under physician supervision while maintaining documentation and patient safety. Opportunities for growth exist in a hospital setting.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • 3 months paramedic experience or completion of a paramedic internship (1 year preferred).
  • EMT-P certification required or LP license (Licensed Paramedic).
  • ACLS, BCLS, PALS within specified timelines of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Administers IV fluids (excluding controlled/RSI) and meds with BMV verification.
  • Document patient care accurately in EHR system.
  • Maintain airway, mobility, hygiene needs and comfort.
  • Apply antiembolism stockings and cervical collars as needed.
  • Perform external defibrillation and oxygen therapy.
  • Insert/remove oral airways; ultrasound-guided IV access; draw blood.

Paramedic (EMT-P) Emergency Department

Fast-paced, high volume Emergency Department is looking for top skilled Paramedic. Is that you?

Work location: Texas Health HEB, 1600 Hospital Parkway in Bedford, TX 76022.

Work hours: PRN (as needed), Evening Shift (3p to 3a). Possible weekend and holiday requirements. Great growth opportunity.

What You Will Do

Provides Safe Patient Care Under Physician Delegation:

  • Administers IV fluid without additives, saline flush, IV antibiotics, all IV medications excluding controlled and RSI medications. ACLS drugs (including drips) using barcode medication verification (BMV) during medication administrations. All IM and oral medications excluding controlled drugs. Plans the care of the patient

  • Completes accurate documentation in the electronic health record

  • Provides consistent attention to airway, intake, elimination, sleep, rest, mobility and hygiene needs

  • Applies antiembolic stockings and sequential compression devices

  • Cervical collar management

  • External defibrillation

  • Nasal cannula or oxygen mask application

  • Oral airway insertion and removal

  • Ultrasound-guided peripheral IV Access

  • Draw blood from ports

  • Other duties as assigned by the care team

Here's What You Need
  • High School diploma or equivalent (GED) required

  • 3 months paramedic experience or completion of a paramedic internship, required. 1 year Paramedic experience in EMS or Fire Dept preferred

  • EMT-P - Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic required or

  • LP - Licensed Paramedic

  • ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support, within 90 days of hire required and

  • BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required and

  • PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support, within 90 days of hire required and

CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training (ED Only), within 60 days of hire required.
