Job summary

Baptist Health in Kentucky seeks a Paramedic to provide advanced life support and direct patient care across age groups under medical direction, following EMS protocols and hospital policies. You will perform ambulance transport, assess changes in condition, and document care accurately.

This full-time role requires a high school diploma, active Kentucky Paramedic license, BLS, PALS and ACLS, plus valid driver's license, with duties including vehicle readiness, coordination of transport, and

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency is required.
• Paramedic license must be active at time of consideration.
• BLS certification required; PALS and ACLS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides patient care within the medical director approved department protocols and state scope of practice.
• Recognizes, responds to, and communicates changes in patient condition appropriately.
• Thoroughly and accurately completes all required documentation and patient care reports within required timeframe.
• Provides care appropriate to the emergency population and maintains the environment of care.
• Performs ambulance transportation services within the scope of practice of a Paramedic.
• Sets priorities for the transport of multiple patients.
• Assures resources and coordinates plan of delivery.
• Maintains knowledge and familiarity with each vehicle in fleet in order to operate smooth and safely.
• Assures ambulance is clean, stocked and response ready at the beginning and end of every shift as well as prior to each and every request for service.
• Ensures proper vehicle maintenance and equipment readiness as well as proper ALS gear readiness and utilization.

Summary

Provides advanced life support care to patients who are ill and/or injured. Administers direct care to the patient of all age groups under the direction of an emergency medical physician, emergency physician's assistant, and emergency advanced registered nurse practitioner or utilizes approved EMS medical protocols if transporting a patient. • Valid driver's license.
