Job summary

Baptist Health Lexington is seeking a PRN Paramedic to join the Transport EMS team. You will provide advanced life support and direct care for patients of all ages under medical direction, ensuring adherence to department policies and paramedic scope of practice.

This role requires active Kentucky Paramedic license, BLS, PALS and ACLS, plus a valid driver's license. Equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency required.
• Active Paramedic license through the Kentucky Board of EMS at time of consideration.
• BLS for Healthcare Provider issued by AHA or ARC.
• PALS & ACLS certifications.
• Other certifications and specialty training as required by the Kentucky Board of EMS.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Provides patient care within department protocols and state scope of practice.
• Recognizes and responds to changes in patient condition and communicates appropriately.
• Completes documentation and patient care reports within required timeframe.
• Provides care appropriate to the emergency population and maintains the environment of care.
• Performs ambulance transportation within the scope of practice of a Paramedic.
• Sets priorities for transport of multiple patients.
• Coordinates plan of delivery and assures resources.
• Maintains knowledge of each vehicle and operations for safe response.
• Ensures vehicle cleanliness, stocking, and readiness at shift start/end and before service requests.
• Ensures proper vehicle maintenance and ALS gear readiness and utilization.

• Maintains knowledge and familiarity with each vehicle in fleet in order to operate smooth and safely.
• Assures ambulance is clean, stocked and response ready at the beginning and end of every shift as well as prior to each and every request for service.
• Ensures proper vehicle maintenance and equipment readiness as well as proper ALS gear readiness and utilization.
